Nordic Walking

We meet every Wednesday throughout the year in all weathers, with a routine of warm ups at the start and stretching at the end of each session.  We walk within Springfield Park on the grass, starting on level ground and moving on to more hilly terrain.  

Nordic Walking is also called power walking because, thanks to the poles, one uses the whole body to walk, including the upper body.  We are not coaches and can only offer some basic guidance , but recently, with funding from Hu3a , we have organised a professionally coached session, and we would expect to repeat this a few times a year.  

Whether or not you have previous experience of Nordic Walking, we would love you to join us.  Participants need to bring their own Nordic walking poles, but you are very welcome to come meet us and watch our routine before committing to buying the poles.    

After our exercise hour, we go for a coffee and snack at the café in Springfield Park at midday.  Even if you don’t fancy the exercise, you are welcome to join us for a chat and social afterwards.
